If you work in the insulation sector and have experience in installing various insulation materials, but lack sufficient knowledge of sheet metal, this brief course is a stepping stone.
Resultaat / Result
The course will teach you the practical skills needed to make drawings to scale for sheet metal sections and to create sheet metal sections, up to the same level as under the 'Insulation Sheet Metal Worker' course.
Doelgroep / Audience
Intended for insulation installers and insulation sheet metal workers with experience in installing sheet metal insulation, but with little routine in making it.
Inhoud / Content
The course covers some theory behind making drawings to scale and reading isometric drawings (symbols and abbreviations):
The course largely consists of the following practical elements:
- Making drawings to scale for standard sheet metal sections
- Cutting, corrugating, rolling and folding these sections
- Simple measuring work
Participants must be given the opportunity to carry out sheet metal work at the company.
Examen / Exam
The course is concluded with a practical exam similar to that for the 'Insulation Sheet Metal Worker' course. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive the OOI's Insulation Sheet Metal Worker certificate.
Vooropleiding / Pre-training
Extensive experience in insulating up to the level of a qualified insulation installer is required. In addition, participants must have some experience in making sheet metal sections, at least having the ability to make to a segment bend independently.
The course dates vary, and will be scheduled in mutual consultation. The course is given at the OOI training centre and in-company.
